I had no idea tech inspection would go like this.  It is 7:30pm local time and I've been through a virtual carnival of booths to get my insurance worked out, my toll booth pass, two GPS systems, a satalite phone, and a tickets for the ferry that will take the Touareg and me across the Mediterranean.

Things I wish I had with me:

  • A flashlight
  • My Leatherman
  • A video camera
  • A reciept for the 42 euro serial cable I had to buy so the Intellitrac system that will track our speed and location will work.  I don't know how much that cost in US dollars, but it was all I had.
  • A complete use of the French and German language.
One of the VW guys said that I speak very American English.  He asked me if I knew what the most common language in the world was?

I said Spanish.

He said "broken English"

I'll send more photos tonight when I get back to the room.
