What if Diesel Power had a (hypothetical) budget to find a truck and turn it into a sled puller? Hmmmm, what to do? Now, pretending that our (hypothetical) budget is financially unlimited, what build would you want to see? With (hypothetical) money not being an option, would you rather see a Cummins buildup, a Duramax buildup, or a Power Stroke buildup? Or, would you prefer something a little wilder? Maybe like an 8.3L Cummins, a DT466, or even a healthy Caterpillar 3126 (7.2L) in a pickup? Maybe even one of those John Deere or International mills making 2,000-plus horsepower out of a tractor? Would you go even bigger? In addition (and, also, hypothetically) what type of body package would you like to see our mighty sled-pulling engine wrapped in? Ford, Chevy or Dodge? Finally, what would you name it? We at Diesel Power were leaning toward “Wound Up.” And, of course we would include something for fans in the stands to read as we passed them on our way to a full pull. So the tailgate would simply read: “And Runnin’ Like Never Before…” While this may be a hypothetical idea, we still want to know what you would build? Hypothetically or not, we care what you think.
