Not bloody likely

A good friend of mine, Fred Williams owns this 1964 Jeep Forward Control (FC) crew cab pickup truck.  Some of you may know my friend as “Crazy Uncle Freddy”, or as Paul Williams, or as the Technical Editor of Petersen’s 4-Wheel & Off-Road magazine (www.4wor.com). I just call him “student loan” for reasons that will stay between him and I.

Anyway, the point here is that Fred and I have a lot of inside jokes, and one of our longest running gags revolves around his beloved ’64 Jeep FC with a 3 cyl two stroke supercharged multi-fuel Cerlist diesel engine.

If you’re like me, you’ve probably never heard of an FC Jeep, a Cerlist diesel engine, or have any interest in putting this (arguably an immaculate and perfect example of the vehicle if ever there was one) truck on the cover of Diesel Power.

But I’ve been wrong before, so if enough people (Fred’s family members) beg us to publish some photos of Fred’s pride and joy- we will.  Somewhere in the magazine anyway.

Fred, if you’re reading this… I’m ready to drive the FC back across the U.S. (Pennsylvania to California)  with you when you’re done with your Buggy project…. All you need to do is write my stories for me this month.
