1. News reports say Ford is going to build small diesel engines for cars and light pickups at its recently closed Essex engine plant in Canada. Conservative Canadian Prime Minister Stephen Harper pledged 80 million dollars if Ford was willing to come up with the other 600 million. 30 years ago the liberal Pierre Trudeau made the same offer to Ford.

2. Miami University chemist Hong-Cai Zhou discoverd a sponge called Porous Coordination Networks 14 (PCN-14) that sucks up methane and stores it compactly. This would be better than a tank of CNG.
