“Can You Hear Me Now?”

The End of Drive-thru Hassles?

McDonalds will be lovin’ it, as will every other fast food-serving restaurant chain with a drive-thru…

The rumor on an online forum is that a “drive-thru” live setting for DP tuners exists, or is in the works. This tune might just make your life a little simpler when it’s your turn to order. The tune quiets down the injectors to the point where you can barely hear them firing, if at all. No more neutral-dropped shut-downs to order your Big Mac’s, just select the setting on-the-fly.

However, some of you (me included) may still appreciate the subtle satisfaction of having to shut down your clattering diesel to order your dinner. And for others, you may not even fit in drive-thru lanes to begin with (sorry lifted trucks with stacks), but knowing that this option is out there, and is in the process of getting the bugs worked out is yet another example of the modern marvel that is the modern, electronically-controlled diesel engine.
