Getting more grunt from a 6.5L

I gave this idea some thought today after coming across this photo…

It’s been a while since an H1 Hummer has graced the pages of the magazine. So, does anyone want to see H1’s or Alpha’s in the magazine? We wouldn’t mind doing a feature on a 6.5L H1 with some mods. While it may not impress many performance-wise, it might be interesting to showcase the kind of terrain these things can tackle, be it mud, rock, sand or hills. Maybe we could even get ahold of one

and get Heath Diesel Performance or SS Diesel Supply to help us out with a before/after 6.5L performance build…

1. i would love to see buildups on older IDI diesels (GM 6.2/6.5, ford 6.9/7.3), although they aren't capable of the massive HP, it's still nice to see a buildup of something out of the ordinary. I would love to see a whole article of the truck that was metioned in the Recent IDI ford article that was claimed to be running an inline bosch pump and cranking out 1200hp. now a 1200hp idi ford is something you don't see every day. and mabey this is a lil off subject but i would also love to see some articles about modified old mercedes diesels i saw some vids of some on youtube that looked like it would eat up my common rail cummins.

2. i like the new 6.6 but i want to see a nice i mean nice 6.5 in a three quarter ton chevy shortbed
