Will new vehicles be made of fabric instead of steel and plastic?

BMW recently introduced this extraordinary concept vehicle that uses fabric for the body. I wonder if this is the first time since the covered wagon this technology has been used?

Bill Senefsky wrote in the Jan. 08 issue the Scout III concept had the, "entire body panel areas made from vinyl." So maybe the Scout was just way ahead of its time.

They say the entire body can be skinned in one hour. At shops I used to work at we could do a fender in that time ,if we hussled.
