After the conclusion of our budget build last week, in which my ’97 Power Stroke received a host of modifications, I now find myself out in front of traffic, a first for me. Not that I didn’t notice all the extra power last week, but today it really hit me.

I’m sitting at a stop light, running late with a half-full coffee mug (I only managed to finagle a little coffee from my maker) with the fuel gauge on “E,” but found myself smiling as I looked at the clock. I had left 5 minutes behind my daily morning schedule, and made it to work early. Now I don’t find myself chugging along behind L.A. Mass Transit busses or garbage trucks.
