We Are Basically Puppets On Strings

And I Don’t Like It (A little Friday venting)

I, like you, am enjoying diesel prices being under $3 a gallon where I live, but how long will prices remain this low before they sky-rocket again?

Obviously, it’s not all OPEC’s fault that gas and diesel prices went so high just a short time ago. If OPEC ever had the chance to cripple America, it would be right now, with an economy in a recession-type of state. But, the price of gas and diesel has gone way down.

What ever happened to increased demand fueling the need for more supply? What ever happened to that simple economical theory that made so much sense just a short while ago? I doubt demand has gone down any. There certainly aren’t any less people in America decreasing the demand.

A million reasons could explain this phenomenon, but I don’t know that I believe any of them.

I’m going to enjoy this fuel while it’s cheap (I never thought I would think $3.09 diesel was a bargain, but it is), but I can’t help but wonder when fuel will be $2 more per gallon–or higher. We know it’s going to happen, but it’s just a matter of when. If the economy recovers, which will happen (because this is America), I expect the price of fuel to more than likely double. Sad, but true. Oh, did I mention to enjoy these prices while they last?
