I Miss My Quad

A Different Kind of Oil Burner

This might not be a diesel. BUT, this thing needs to be hauled out here by a diesel, so what the hey...

She’s as old school as it gets:
1986 Honda 250R (first year of “the legend” for those that aren’t gurus)
ESR 310
38mm Air Styker Carb
Elka Rear, Works front
Hiper Technology bead locks/ITP Holeshots (courtesy of older brother)
Other goodies…

A constant work-in-progress, in which my intentions for its dedicated purpose have been altered back-and-forth. First, it was going to be widened for motocross, but then the 4-stroke scene took over, and made life difficult for a 2-stroke in the MX world (I know I know, I gave up!). Second, I was going to leave it the factory width to be more suitable for fast trail riding, and a tight-tree hill shooter, in-betweener (is that a new word?).

I just miss the thing so darn much, it’s killing me! Thirdly, when I finally get it out here, I’ll mount the paddle tires I have to the ITP Baja wheels that have been sitting around for a year, and go play in the dunes, which is one place where a 2-stroke still shines, especially against 4-strokes. Heck, maybe I’ll try out a nitrous kit from Boondockers while I’m at it! (I’ve always wanted to do that!)
