It’ll Be Here Before We Know It

Entries are slowly trickling in for Diesel Power Challenge ’09…


As expected, few submitted entries have been Fords, so if you’ve got one making good power, and want to compete, get going. Of course, potent Duramaxes and Cummins owners shouldn’t hesitate to apply as well.

After I got here back in June, I was slightly disappointed that the DPC was held in Salt Lake City, and not somewhere in the middle of the country to attract more people from back east. But, as I’ve now found, holding the event in Salt Lake City provides a truly awesome challenge for every competitor: ELEVATION!

It’s amazing how different a truck runs in elevation. Even having a 1,200 horsepower truck means little if you aren’t dialed in for it. Hence the reasoning behind many competitors spraying nitrous in an attempt to light off their turbo(s)!
