Is the 6.4L Ford the new king?

The best diesel ever?

Of course people will always argue on what is "the best diesel truck ever made."  First Gen Dodge owners say  theirs are the best cause of the good ol steel and chrome, construction.  Then there's the 12-valves from 94-98 that people crave.  '06 Duramax LBZ's have good rods, but no emmissions devices, so they're in the running.  But what about Fords?

From an aftermarket standpoint, it looks like the 6.4L Ford might now be in the running for best diesel ever.  It's quiet, has a great interior, tows like a bandit, and can make 500+hp at the rear wheels with just a straight pipe, intake, and tuner.  Not only that but it can do so on the stock transmission and converter, no limp mode or burned up clutches or snapped shafts.  Now the 6.4L's are pretty new, so only time will tell whether they can withstand the test of time and still be reliable at high horsepower levels, but for now, it looks like we got ourselves a new player.  Oh and did we mention it can get 20+mpg with these mods?

If there's anything we'd change, we'd make the new trucks a bit lighter, but other than that it looks like Ford nailed it.
