Problem Solver- Custom Rear Axle In Fords

If you swap a custom rear axle into a late-model Ford truck you’ll quickly find that your transmission no longer shifts, the speedometer doesn’t work, and you can forget about your ABS brakes.

Curt LeDuc at California Pre-Fun (951-845-8820) has the solution—this vehicle speed sensor (VSS) relocation system that moves the VSS sensor out of the top of the axle, and puts it on the back of the transfer case. Now you can use any rear axle from a Ford 9-inch to a Rockwell. the kit includes a custom machined transfer case output yoke, and a TIG-welded bracket that was designed to hold the factory Ford VSS sensor over the newly machined yoke. All you have to do is tell California Pre-Fun what rear axle ratio you have, and what size tire you plan to run.
