Tonight I’ll be venturing southwest of here to Carrollton, Illinois for a local sled pull. A few guys I know in the area will be hooking to the sled, mostly for grits and shins, but also because they like to compete (in what I think is the best diesel motorsport out there) any chance they get.
I’m sure it will be mostly street trucks, but that always means that the competitor turnout is good: first timers hook and break or hook and become hooked for life, and those with experience show up early, survey the track, and decide what to change before their class is told to line up.
It was a hot one today-probably 95 degrees and sky-high humidity. No doubt, tonight will be a good night to see some engine failures with high rpm runs and thick air to deal with. We’ll see…
