Firestone

A Little History Tid-Bit

It’s funny how things work out, or come about…

Anybody know why the Ford/Firestone relationship was so strong? How about because Henry Ford and Harvey Firestone were very good friends, often vacationing together. And, also in the mix of close friendship was Thomas Edison, arguably one of America’s greatest inventors.

Now to the sad part:
The Firestone name became part of the Japan company Bridgestone in the late 1980s (hence, Bridgestone/Firestone Inc.), and speculation is that the Firestone logo will be completely dropped in the near future, forever.

The full Firestone story will be in the August issue.

PS - I love the Firestone Destination M/Ts I'm currently running: good in the soft stuff, awesome in the snow, and still look brand new with 30,000 miles of 99.9 percent street driving on them.
