It now rests in the rear window of our 24-valve Dodge project truck. And, rumor has it that it bolted on nearly 200 horsepower—oh wait, that was our trip over to Scheid Diesel last week.
And after taking it for a test drive over the weekend, I think it needs a “Don’t even try it in your F-150” sticker as well. I had a run-in with an F-150 completely infatuated with racing the truck, and after he’d baited me all through town, I let him have it—or at least some of it while merging onto the interstate.
Never giving the truck more than ¾ throttle, and taking my sweet time navigating the NV4500’s gearbox, the big black Dodge wiped the smile off his face real quick in getting up to my preferred 75 mph highway cruising speed.
Next up, a 10,000-pound tow test… I wonder if we can get some competition around town for that… and some diesel competition this time.
