After pulling it from the Super Duty it was powering, the number five connecting rod was broken, which dinged up the crankshaft. Two valves were bent as well (The photo above is NOT Diesel Tech’s engine, by far).
I’ll keep you posted on what the guys at Diesel Tech want to do with the engine: beef it up and go all out, build it up slowly, or keep it conservative and simply rebuild it.
Man, I wish I had an engine from each of the Big Three sitting in my garage…
