Build a Duramax in your Garage

    Last weekend I joined Dmitri Millard and Paul and Drew Benham in their garage to do a partial 6.6L engine build and swap.    

 


The

    Over a few days I watched and learned as Dmitri put together a 6.6L Duramax that was going into Paul and Drew's Silverado. The original engine blew a headgasket which welded the bolts, heads and block temporarily together. The build went smooth except for when I nearly blew a gasket torquing the head bolts to 125 lb-ft with a short torque wrench. I'm still feeling that one.

The whole crew is going down to Irwindale tomorrow so Dmitri can race his truck. Matt Larson from the Diesel Power Challenge will be there as well.

Has anyone ever heard of nitronol?
