No doubt, everyone likes to see a little carnage from time to time, so here’s a look at Diesel Tech’s recent 7.3L Power Stroke debacle…
It looked like a high rpm, over-rev situation to me when I first glanced at the engine (couple that with extreme cylinder pressures and ka-boom).
First photo: cracked number 5 connecting rod (powdered metal rod—gasp).
Second photo: a little ding in the 7.3L’s crank.
