Diesel Power is really about the study of running energy or heat through a machine and getting as much power out as possible. Whether its internal or exteranl combustion makes no difference but a combination might be best. Diesel wouldn't have existed without Carnot's groundwork. I'm definetly going to be there when Cyclone runs 200 mph on the salt flats.

Check this out. http://www.cyclonepower.com/used.html I'm writing this blog from my home computer and the spell check function isn't coming up, the pictures aren't loading, and links aren't linking but I'm just so excited I have to blog about it. Aren't blogs supposed to be rough drafts anyways? Who wrote the rules on blogs? Get this 860 lb-ft and only a 336 pound package. Its a six cylinder radial engine like an old airplane. It uses deionized water in a closed system as its working fluid at 1,200 degrees and 3,200 psi. So it won't billow steam unfortunatly. The steam whistle you guessed it, gone as well. But the effiecancy is up from 12% to 30.75% effieciey. The greater the temperature difference the more effiecency. You want a small work chamber so heat goes into power. This engine can run on any type of fuel and the team hasn't decided what one they want to pick. They are holding auditions. Back in 1906 a steam car went 127 mph. Not using steam engines is like benching Bret Farve. I wonder if Jay Leno will like this Cyclone racer?
