Old School Attention-Getters

This summer I came across two of the cleanest ’89 – ’93 Dodges I’ve ever seen. Here is one of them…

And it belongs to a 19-year old college student who did 90 percent of the work himself. And, not only is it clean, it makes more than 500 horsepower, thanks to an HT4B/S300 twin setup, and does so with a VE injection pump! While it’s a 14mm monstrous version of the stocker, it’s still impressive. You gotta love old school, mechanical technology that still gets it done.

I love old trucks, and I’d like to do an old school truck section in the magazine one day. Maybe even solidify the ’89 – ’93 Dodges, ’83 – ’97 Fords, and ’82 – ’00 GM ¾-ton and 1-ton diesels as classics. On looks alone, the Dodges and Fords’ square, brick-type body styles look ancient, but eccentric at the same time.
