The rumor mill has predicted that many 6.0L Power Strokes and LB7 Duramax’s will find their way out of warranty, and into smaller, more affordable diesel shops in the coming months/year…
Knowing several 6.0L owners approaching, or just now breaching the 100,000-mile barrier, I’ve noticed their doubtfulness in keeping their trucks. Some have had issues with these problem-child engines and some have not, but all parties seem to be concerned with their truck going “the distance” or not.
My question is, would you be looking to unload (and/or take a hit) on your 6.0L Ford or LB7 GM, or prepare to stick it out and go for the long haul?
PS: Are extended warranty’s worth the time of day?
