Nitrous was definitely the name of the game at this year’s Diesel Power Challenge…

 


In 2009, Robert Evan’s ’04 Dodge took the win on fuel alone, but this year nearly every single competitor sprayed his way to the finish—and Evans' crew even admitted that not running nitrous would've hurt their chances of winning. The key to the big torque numbers we saw with nitrous was in bringing it on hard, fast, and low in the engines power band.

Matt Handwork’s Duramax made 1,663 lb-ft with the nitrous coming on all at once, and starting at just 2,300 rpm.

The squeeze might just be on (no pun intended) for competitors wishing to take top honors on nothing more than number 2 only in 2011...
