For identity purposes, we’ll call the reader that told us this story, Scott! Scott sent us this photo a few days after getting pulled over and ticketed by local law enforcement. Here are his words:
“I thought y’all might get a good laugh out of the picture (above) of what I got into the other night coming home from the ODRA Sled Pull.”
“We hauled the Ford and my Farmall Super M to the ODRA sled pull in Alvarado, Texas this past Saturday, did well with both machines, but had major tire failure on the return trip home coming through Houston (5 of 8 new tires on my gooseneck slung the tread at the same time, and at midnight). So we were forced to offload everything on the Interstate and limp it all to some family’s house nearby.”
“We got the Ford moved without any problems, but I got pulled over by the local sheriff half way to my kinfolks house on the Super M pulling tractor. Within minutes there were two more cops on the scene and they surrounded my tractor from all sides, interrogated me for a half hour while I explained the situation and pleaded my case, then gave me the option of either 8 tickets for various moving violations OR they impound my pulling tractor! They called around and luckily couldn’t find a rollback wrecker in the area, so they impounded it in the Home Depot parking lot next door for the night, and I was forbidden to move the tractor or trailer or anything else until daylight!”
“So how many folks that y’all have met have ever gotten their pulling tractor impounded?”
That’s good stuff. I don’t care who you are. We’re glad it all worked out in the end for Scott, too.
