These things have been around a while, but that’s no reason to not give them an honorable mention…

The solid brass oil drain valve simply threads into your oil pan, replacing the original drain plug. I’ve ordered one for my ’05 Jeep Liberty for two reasons:

1) The oil pan is aluminum, which means over tightening the plug in the slightest way can damage the threads. This will rule out messing with tightening the plug to 20 ft-lbs every time.

2) It’s a tight fit for this Midwesterner’s mid-section to squeeze past the sub-frame and reach the drain plug (and I usually misplace my jack stands in the garage). Now I can open the drain valve and walk away for a minute, effortlessly.

*They make them for tons of applications, including Cummins’ 3.3L and 3.9L 4BT, 5.9L, and 8.3L, International 6.9L and 7.3L IDI’s, 7.3L and 6.0L Power Strokes, 6.2L and 6.5L GM diesels, and the 6.6L Duramax.
