A well put together 4BT Cummins replaced the big block power plant that used to dwell under its hood. In fact, the little 3.9L weighs about the same as the big block Chevy it replaced, and it was easier to package. Sacrificing horsepower for torque didn’t seem to hurt the car at the drag strip, either. It still runs air-limited (57mm S300) 11.80s in the quarter-mile and 7.30s in the eighth.
