100-Foot Shootouts

This is the first time I’ve heard of 100-foot shootouts. Is this a Canadian thing?...

A lot of the events I’ve found on Google give diesels their own class to compete in. It’s actually kind of cool. Well, you’d get to see a bunch of launches anyway.

Seems like this would be a pretty easy event to put on. Kind of like a mud drag.

1. For sure we need to bring this trend to the US....have a parking lot? We have a shootout!! The guy in the video almost got banned after that race cause he beat a bunch of 8-second drag cars that couldn't hook up. Went 100 ft in his diesel truck in something like 2.2 seconds!

2. Ah, the controversy that surrounds a 1,500 lb-ft Cummins doing a four-wheel drive launch will never end :)

Thats is a wicked looking Dodge Cummins!!

Banned after he spanked a bunch of gas dragsters!! Im not suprised... when a 7000lb truck with 1000lb-ft of torque that can still be a daily driver, family vehicle, tow heavy, off-road, give gasser jokes hell :), etc., etc. beats a bunch of built drag cars the gas guys dont like it.

5. I thought the truck in the vid just beat a bunch of 8 second drag cars in the 100ft run...

How much do 8 second drag cars generally weigh Jason?? 2000-4000lbs??

I would rather have an 80 second diesel turtle than an 8 second gasser rocket ship.

6. I just reserved the lot at my local Wal-Mart. Next Friday night all diesel pickups and 8-second cars in the area are welcome.

See? I've already scheduled my first event :)
