1. I got a r/c car that's bigger than that thing. No wonder it gets 200mpg. Is that to scale? That's gotta be 1/5th scale. I bet it would fit where my spare tire goes under my truck.

3. You could always scale it up.

Heinz makes ceramic pistons for any diesel engine. They don't have piston rings because the tolerances are so exact because ceramic doesn't expand.
Aluminum blocks without steel cylinder liners are also OK.


These pistons also require no oiling. This engine the CHB-Evo doesn't require coolant.

5. Get 200MPG, but die when a kid on a skateboard crashes into you!! Perfect marketing scheme and they could get the cheap skate by advertising it as a two in one product- a mode of transportation and a handy dandy coffin. Just tow it to the funeral, lol!

Serious, come on now. Its engine technology is awesome, but its size is madness.

How efficient would the engine in question be in a 3,000lb car?

I'd like to see all this in person some day.

Yes I like big cars and trucks too for cruising America's open highways, but you need small cars too for in big cities especially in Europe and Asia. The rich parts of the middle east, subsidized fuel South American countries and the U.S. and Australia is probably your big car market.

But you wouldn't want to take a Canyonaro (Simpsons reference) to Europe, but if you did I bet it would get 100 mpg. Heinz's engine has a thermal efficiency around 60% today's engines are around 40%. Rudolf Diesel's first engines were 25% about the same as today's gas cars.

Plus very low emissions and lightweight.

It's a good idea to have two pistons come together instead of just bouncing against a fixed wall. Plus its not a very good idea to put a gasket right where the hottest part of the engine is. Then add water flowing through it...which is how our engines are designed today.
