The First annual Rudy’s Performance Dyno Day was a hit down in North Carolina…

At least 200 to 300 people showed up to see what truck could best the dyno, mingle with other diesel owners, and browse vendor row. With more than 30 trucks hitting Diesel Performance Motorsports’ chassis dyno, live-tuning being performed by Innovative Diesel on Rudy’s indoor dyno, and decent weather, it was one of the largest dyno events we’ve attended in recent years.

Two Power Strokes broke the 1,000 hp barrier on Saturday. 2010 Diesel Power Challenge competitor Brian Jelich’s 7.3L and Aaron Rudolph’s (owner of Rudy’s Performance) 6.4L broke its own record—making more than 1,200 hp. This is the highest horsepower 6.4L, not to mention the highest horsepower Power Stroke to ever grace a chassis dyno.

VA crew

A lot of out-of-state plates were visible at the show. I believe most (if not all) of this crew traveled down to the event from Virginia.

* = Joe Montrella’s monster made 1,010 hp the following day on nitrous and on Rudy’s Dynocom dyno.
