I bet you never would’ve guessed this is how our ’97 F-350 crew cab used to look: diamond plate running boards and chicken lights! Yep. Same truck. It’s funny how, once I pulled off the running boards, it looked like 4-inches of lift was added, and the wheelbase seemed 3-feet shorter!
The old man-ish look the truck had when I picked it up was actually its best selling point. I had a hunch it had been owned by (at least) a middle-aged to older guy. I was right. It belonged to an older gentleman in southwestern Ohio.
Reasons For Buying:
-well cared for (thank you first owner)
-brand new Michelin tires
-87,000 miles
-1-ton (solid front axle: Dana 60)
-Warn locking front hubs
-crew cab
-little visible rust underneath ☺ (at the time...)
It was in mint condition back in 2006 (when I bought it), and only had 87,000 miles on the clock. I still have a lot of the original paperwork that came with the one-owner truck as well: oil changes, tire and alignment receipts, and I think it may have even hauled a truck camper on its back at some point in time. The single-disc Sony CD player that was installed in 1999 is still kicking too!
