Running a quick 9.75-seconds at 137 mph in the quarter-mile!
From the time slip, you can see the truck’s 1.52-second 60-foot, its 6.33-second eighth-mile at 115 mph, and its 1,320-foot sprint.
Here's the video.
With 3.55 gearing, the pumped up 6.4L is bouncing off the rev limiter by the end of the quarter-mile, and the truck actually coasted the last 200 feet on its 9.75-second pass. But, with 3.31 gears installed, Rudy will be shooting for mid 9’s this weekend at the Tarheel Nationals, sanctioned by the NHRDA, in Oakboro, North Carolina.
With a race weight of 6,260 pounds (fiberglass body), the HP calculator puts the truck at approximately 1,100 rwhp for its 9.75 pass. However, if you recall the Rudy’s Dyno Day event we covered back in March, the truck made 1,213 rwhp on a chassis dyno. Needless to say, with more hp on tap and a gear change in store, mid 9-second quarter-mile times will be a cinch—and we may even see a low 9.
Look for Rudy’s to mix it up in Pro Street classes this year. This Power Stroke definitely has what it takes to compete.
