Just as I suspected, the Jeep's engine is running much cleaner...
The soot level found in the engine oil (now that I'm running Green Diesel Engineering's Eco tune) went from 56 ct/ml to 4 ct/ml. That's an enormous improvement, thanks to the EGR system no longer reintroducing exhaust back into the 2.8L's intake.
In addition, underneath the analysis' lab control number, where it said "Monitor Compartment" for the first list of results, now says: "No Action Required." All wear metals once again checked out normal.
In addition to the huge reduction in soot content, Oxidation, Nitration, and Sulfation was reduced as well. The V100 portion (which indicates how well the oil is breaking down) also dropped from 14.4 to 13.8, so plenty of oil life was left at the time of the analysis (approximately 4,000 miles on Rotella's T6 5W-40 synthetic).
This is great news for us, as we'd like to see at least 300,000 out of the little common-rail 4-cylinder.
