With some bolt-on speed stuff (that I'll be telling you about in a month or two) I hit the local 1/8th mile to see how I'd do.
I managed to cut an awesome .09 light, but then after about a second I was all out of power (peak G reading was at 7/10ths of a second, then it was all downhill) compared to the 7-second (1/8th mile) Falcon that was next to me, and he walked away from me like a kid at a candy store. Oh well. The truck had a 1.92 60ft time with a 4wd launch
, and ran 9.1@73mph. I did a Gtech run earlier at 9.24@74mph, so I figured that's about what it would run. Since I have all the good stuff in my transmission, I'm going to try locking the converter in First gear the next time I go to the track. I think it will make a huge difference. For those wondering, low 9s in the 1/8th roughly equates to low 14s in the quarter....a quantum jump from the high 16s I was running. I expect 13s with lock-up. Thanks to Justin Fivella at Super Streetbike Magazine for taking the video!
