Getting it on the Engine Stand

Today I took the crankshaft and cylinder heads into Adam's Metallizing & Grinding in Lancaster, California.

The crankshaft looked OK and when I took it in they measured and it was within spec. I should have written down what the spec range was. I'll make sure to do that when I go back.

To get the crankshaft cleaned and polished costs $60.

To get the heads cleaned, inspected for cracks, new seals, and valve job. $275

I was thinking about filling the non oil cooler side with Hard-Blok a little past the freeze plugs. I was also thinking about putting in  two thin wall tubes that expand into a short funnel shape so the oil cooler will still work and then poor the Hard-Blok. Also thinking about not doing this.

Also thinking about the cam bearings. To replace or not to replace. They look good to me. I'll need a special tool to do this. Anybody know of a good one?
