Just in case you were wondering if a 48RE transmission will fit in a compact rental car...Yes...Yes it will. You just need to put the spare tire in the backseat.

 The extra 250 (?) pounds in the trunk made the little car a little squirrelly at highway speeds especially when going over bumps. The gas mileage really dropped off and the gas pedal felt like a weak handshake. Too bad it wasn't a diesel...too bad it wasn't a pickup... but whatever works.  :)
