As you can see in the photo, DieselSite makes its own, billet aluminum housing. But it doesn’t do this for looks or a higher retail price—it does it because nearly every aspect of the early high-pressure oil pumps are flawed (including the housings), and it’s extremely common to see them fail, prematurely. According to DieselSite, each housing is machined from a 20-pound block of 6061 aluminum, and each pump incorporates a dual ball bearing cartridge with a larger swashplate and a longer stroke that retains safe, reliable pump operation by maintaining the required rotational freedom of the piston socket for an axial piston pump.
The high output Adrenaline retails for $1,199 (stock output is $999), which seems more than fair being that the entire pump is re-engineered and full of brand new parts.
The high output version can also support up to a 300cc traditional style HEUI injector, so it’s ideal for guys wanting to keep only one pump in their equation, but want big horsepower via larger injectors.
Straight from the folks at DieselSite:
“Everything that we have ever found to cause a failure or weakening in the stock pump has been addressed in all of our pumps.”
*Is it ironic that we saw half a dozen 6.0L Power Strokes competing in either Pro Street or Super Street drag racing classes at the TS race??? Just like the 7.3L, the 6.0L is making a comeback in the performance realm. It's amazing how a few small shops can stick with a deceased engine (and an outdated injection system design) and make them run neck-and-neck with today's common-rails.
