And that is to park the F-350 and utilize this flash tool from Green Diesel Engineering on the CRD. Equipped with Green Diesel’s Eco (economy…) tune, mileage could increase by as much as 5 mpg! This could mean an additional 100 miles per tank of fuel. And not only is the Eco tune designed to increase fuel economy, it’s good for as much as 30 additional horsepower. We’ll be utilizing a self-induced governor on our right foot in order to see mileage gains, though… We’ll put the extra 30hp to use when fuel prices fall.
Look for long-term mileage results and a before and after oil analysis in the coming months. If the Eco tune is everything it’s cracked up to be, some definite relief at the pump will be in store for us—and hopefully a lot of other CRD owners.
