I keep a group of project trucks handy, and build them as I would think our readers would. My 89 is a nitrous huffing mega-hp monster, my 95 will be designed to do it all, and do it well, and my new 02 Chevy is made to tow. With each truck designed and built for a different purpose, there's something here for everyone....
With the '89, it's been a long road, and while I am not saying it's done, going from 170rwp to 972rwhp has been an insane journey with many friends made, and I even went as far as to (gulp) paint it, and get it WHEELS......don't worry, it will always be "rust bucket" to me.
The '95 is getting geared up for a turbo test, and now has a purple turbo that makes 51psi of boost, which I am aware of thanks to a set of the coolest gauges I have ever seen by Autometer. The have a warning function on low and high readings, they change colors, flash on over-warning, have a peak recall, and can even trigger a relay. I am hesitant to even call them "gauges." They even can be seen while driving into direct sunlight!
The '02 has a transmission that shifts funny, fluid that smells odd, and has so far driven perfectly fine back and forth to work and around town when I have played with it. It also has an odd ticking noise, a funny smell when it rains, and a suspension that is suspect. But, did I mention it was only $3,000??
Any questions, concerns and criticisms, feel free to let me know!
