2. The engine is not anything new. It can even be found in the Chrysler 300 (or at least in Europe, it can..).

Considering that Audi and BMW are getting over 300 bhp out of their 3.0L six-cylinder diesels, I'm not particularly impressed by Banks' 268 bhp from a tuned, expensive engine.

I had hoped for a downsized V8 Cummins in this truck, the rumored 4.0L, but I guess not. :c

3. Personally I would have liked to see them keep an inline engine design, be it two or four cylinder. Although I do understand most prefer comfort over functionality and a straight four doesn't run so smooth as a I6 or V8

5. Same diesel made by the 65-year-old Italian company VM Motori. Gale Banks has used this as a foundation, already modified and given to the DOD for anylasis for possible contract supply. Check out the possibilities of this little powerful diesel.

So, yes, looking forward to the cool possiblities of upgrades that will be offered by Gale and others in the near future, up to 630 hp in race trim.

6. Simply a real disappointment. Here is a classic case that new is not better. The in-line six Cummins would be the right decision, maybe someday. Buyer beware... It's not for me.
