First, a 930hp fuel-only common-rail Dodge put on a show for us in western Illinois. In fact, there was so much white smoke rolling that a local stopped by to see if the cornfield next to us was on fire. The ’06 Ram is a street sleeper, and is 99% smokeless under wide-open throttle. You'll find out how this is possible in the January issue. The owner's goal is to break 1,000 hp on the chassis dyno in the next 3 weeks (before we send the feature to the presses), so stay tuned for that as well.
Then, the next day, a peppy, 650hp LMM Duramax dug up the asphalt for us over in eastern Illinois. You'll get to meet this unique GMC (below) in the January issue as well.
