We spoke with Hamilton Cams today, and learned quite a bit about its new Performance 12-valve Cylinder Head...
"When we designed the head we wanted it to be able to be dual purpose in the sense that we wanted it to be drop-in for street trucks with no other modifications needed, as well as be able to support enough airflow for the 2,000hp pullers."
"Toward that end, we made the port walls at least 0.200-inch thick so that the ports could handle considerable porting. On the port roof, it is solid all the way to the top of the cylinder head, so that extensive port reshaping is possible. As we just received our shipment last week, we are still doing dyno testing to see where the horsepower will max out on our test trucks, but preliminary dyno results are very promising!"
"One thing that we have noticed is that with all of the added flow, our customers are able to daily drive very large single turbos like the S475 and S480 with very little lag."
