Official numbers (released by Scheid Diesel today) show that 15,500 people attended the 2012 Scheid Diesel Extravaganza...
This year's three-day event also attracted 38 companies (nationwide) for vendor displays and/or sponsorship opportunities. The event also garnered support from local businesses in Terre Haute, as well as the state of Indiana. According to Scheid, spectators traveled from as far away as Quebec, Canada to attend the show, and competitors came from as far away as Colorado, Utah, and Texas to compete.
$57,000 was paid out to the winners of the Pro Pulling League sled pull classes, and $18,000 was split between the winners at the dragstrip.
This year a portion of the event proceeds went to Ivy Tech Community College and CHANCES for Indiana Youth.
This was the 16th annual Scheid Diesel Extravaganza.
Next year's show will once again be held at the Wabash Valley Fairgrounds in Terre Haute, Indiana, from August 23rd through August 25th (Friday - Sunday).
