Both trucks were also stripped of the latter part of the exhaust systems to be upgraded with MBRP performance components, and the Diesel Power truck was fitted with PPE heavy-duty aluminum differential covers and transmission pan. These improve the life of the diffs and trans by reducing the fluid temperature and adding capacity.
We're also happy to report that a pile of parts have arrived for both trucks. We're still waiting on a couple of things, but we have enough to keep us busy for the next couple of days.
We want you to get involved with the two trucks that we're building as part of the CRAFTSMAN Ultimate Truck Buildout. Go to the CRAFTSMAN Facebook page to vote for the truck that's your favorite. The Diesel Power magazine truck came back from Graphik Concepts sporting logos and graphics that will make it easy to spot in a crowd. We dropped off the Hot Rod magazine truck for a similar treatment when we picked up the diesel truck.
The Katzkin leather seat covers are going to really make the interior of these Chevrolet trucks look even richer, and they'll be branded with the CRAFTSMAN Ultimate Truck Buildout logo. These seat covers are extremely high quality and were custom ordered with detail stitching.
You have to break the seats down to install the Katzkin covers. The team at Lingenfelter opted to leave the bases in place to avoid disconnecting wires and taking any more time than necessary.
The MBRP exhaust slipped into place on the diesel truck without any fight. The system is made from T409 stainless steel and fits in the factory hangers.
To increase the durability of the axles and transmission, we added PPE aluminum covers and pan. These provided additional oil capacity and have integrated cooling fins.
