In a recent road trip spanning from New York to Los Angeles, Jaguar averaged a whopping 62.9-mpg in its new XF model, four-door luxury sedan...

Sadly, the sleek sedan is right-hand drive, British-registered, and will doubtfully ever be seen in the States. On the upside, the 2.2L, 16-valve, 4-cylinder, common-rail diesel under the hood is rumored to crank out an impressive 187 hp and 332 lb-ft. The engine is fed via a water-cooled turbo, and it's backed by an 8-speed ZF automatic transmission (which is probably awesome for rpm drop at cruising speed).

Granted the average speed for the trip was just 53 mph, BUT the average combined mileage is said to still be an efficient 52.3-mpg.

We're not sure what it weighs, but it can click off a 0-60 mph time in 8 seconds flat.
