We finally got a glimpse of Harvey Grant's multi-year rat rod project actually up and running! The rig is a conglomeration of a Chevy cab, first gen Dodge chassis, a Hot Rods to Hell truck arm rear suspension, and a VE-pump, triple turbo 5.9L Cummins engine. Quite a mouthful!
The rig went together over a long time, as parts and pieces were traded or found to keep the cost down. The engine was seized up and sitting in the rain, and one cylinder had the piston rusted solid in the cylinder. The cylinder was hand-honed out, and new rings were tossed in. As good as new (sorta). Anyhow, that's the type of shenanigans that went into this build, and we'll soon have a feature in the magazine on how the triple turbo system was built on a budget. But for now, here's a video of the first startup of Harvey Grant's creation.
