Project Outcast dyno

Despite giving up some low-end response, the PowerMax shined in the midrange and top-end, pushing our '03 F-250 past the 450-rwhp mark...

While on the dyno yesterday, our early 6.0L Power Stroke put down 453 hp and 812 lb-ft at Randall's Performance. We saw the same 32 pounds of boost we were seeing with the stock turbo, but EGT was even lower, running a cool 1,250 degrees under sustained, wide-open throttle scenarios. Sure, we lost a little low-end grunt, but that's to be expected when you go from a 59mm turbo to a 63.5mm one—even if it is variable geometry.

Perhaps the best news from yesterday was that our ICP voltage is now stable (thanks to DieselSite's new high-pressure oil pump). We were able to get (what we believe to be) a max effort number from the DIY 155cc injector upgrade. Now, on to bigger and better things...We're bumping up injector size, adding an aftermarket fuel supply system, and seeing what this PowerMax can really handle. Stay tuned.
