Route 66 Raceway in Joliet, Illinois is hosting a diesel drag race on Saturday, August 4th...

 The Chicagoland diesel event (coined "Downright Diesels") will take place at its quarter-mile, NHRA-licensed dragstrip, and all the typical diesel classes will be run: ET Bracket, 12.0 Index, Pro Street, Pro Mod, and Top Diesel. The Scheid Diesel crew will be there in the 6-second dragster.

 In addition to drag racing, a vendor row and a Show N' Shine competition will also be held. Plus, test-and-tune "Fun Runs" will also take place (a way for novice drag racers to compete without being eliminated from the competition).
