Ford is set to begin production of the all-new Transit van next year at its Kansas City, MO assembly plant, the same plant that turns out the F-150...
For those that don't know, the Transit will be replacing the E-series cargo and passenger vans currently in production. The Transit will be rear-wheel drive, built on a unibody platform, and available with a yet-to-be-revealed, new diesel engine option. The direct-injection 3.5L EcoBoost gas V-6 will also be available.
The best part? The Transit will be sold in the U.S. (in addition to all over the world).
According to Ford, there will be a period of time (into 2014) when it will be making and selling E-series and Transit vans, and you'll be able to see them both, side-by-side at a dealer.
