One of our most popular project vehicles ever has been my personal truck, Project Rust Bucket, an 89 Dodge we took from 170rwhp to 972rwhp, and even increased fuel economy to boot. Well, I'm glad to announce that Rust Bucket will be coming back for a few articles!
Our traction-limited 13.1 at 118mph quarter mile time has always bugged us, so we're doing a locker install article on the Dana 70 rear end, and we're going to hit the track again to see how much of a difference traction makes (a lot, I hope). Also, we're going to be doing a bedliner story (our bed is still unpainted) and replace some of our leaking freeze plugs with some blow-proof ones. We might even throw our 12mm injection pump (which is stock) back on, and see what kind of numbers we can put down with that.
So 1st Gen owners never fear, the old Dodge has a little more in 'er yet!
